Midad is a personal daily notebook. This page explains plainly what happens to your data.

Where your data lives

Without signing in, your notes, tasks, events, drawings and photos are stored only on your device, inside the browser. Signing in is optional and is used only to sync between your devices.

If you clear your browser data or remove the app, your notebook is removed from your device. Use “Export backup” in Settings from time to time.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or share personal data.
• There are no ads and no third-party tracking or analytics.
• We do not read what you write.

Fonts

The app loads its fonts from Google Fonts on first launch and keeps a copy on your device. Like any site using Google Fonts, this request shows Google your IP address. It contains nothing from your notebook.

Account and sync (optional)

If you sign in with Google or your email, a copy of your notebook (notes, tasks, events, drawings, photos and settings) is stored in a Supabase database in the European Union (Paris) so it appears on all your devices.

• From your account we keep only your email address, to know the notebook is yours.
• Database rules stop any other user from seeing your data. Connections are encrypted, and data is encrypted at rest.
• We do not read users’ notebooks or use them for anything other than sync.
• Signing out keeps the notebook on your device and stops syncing.
• To delete your account and all cloud data, email us from your registered address and we will delete it within 30 days.

The assistant (optional)

The assistant works only when you open it and send it something. Then, through our server, we send to Claude by Anthropic:

• What you typed or dictated in the chat, and any photos you attached.
• The titles and times of your events and tasks for the next two weeks, so it can warn you about clashes.
• Today’s date, your time zone and the app language.

If you attach a voice recording, it is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to be turned into text, and the text is then treated as if you had typed it. We do not store the recording on our server.

We do not send the rest of your notes or your saved photos. We do not store the conversation on our server; we keep only your daily request count to apply the daily limit.

We currently use Claude by Anthropic, and Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models. The name of the service in use is always shown at the top of the assistant. If we change the service, we will update this page and explain its terms before the change.

Dictation uses your phone’s own speech recognition (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone), which is covered by their privacy policies.

Children

Midad is not directed at children under 13.
